An international scientific conference entitled "Perspectives of Philosophy in the Context of Azerbaijan-Romania Dialogue" was held at the Academy of Sciences of Romania


On May 20–21, 2025, an international scientific conference on the topic “The Future of Philosophy in the Thoughts of Azerbaijani and Romanian Philosophers” (“L’avenir de la philosophie dans les réflexions des philosophes azerbaïdjanais et roumains”) was held at the Academy of Sciences of Romania. The scientific community of both countries actively participated in the event, which was an important stage in the development of scientific dialogue in the field of philosophy. The conference was attended by the Vice-President of the Romanian Academy of Sciences, Academician Mircea Dimitru, the Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Psychology of the Academy, Professor Viorel Vizureanu, as well as leading teachers of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest. The Azerbaijani side was represented by prof. Ilham Mammadzadeh, the director of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology,ANAS. During the meeting with the Vice-President of the Academy, he provided detailed information about the scientific and educational activities of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, and also informed about the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.The conference continued at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest, where the participants discussed the contemporary challenges and prospects of philosophical thought against the backdrop of global changes.Within the framework of the conference, an agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS and the Institute of Philosophy and Psychology of the Academy of Sciences of Romania.Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh, giving speech at the conference, presented the philosophical heritage of Azerbaijan and provided information about the main directions of modern philosophical thought in the country.At the end of the conference, academician Mircea Dimitru and professor Viorel Vizureanu were officially invited to an event to be held in Baku in November on the occasion of the International Philosophy Day. Holding such events has contributed to the deepening of scientific cooperation, strengthening of cultural ties and the joint development of the humanities at the international level.
