The model of modern Azerbaijani multiculturalism as an expression of respect for the traditions of multiculturalism, tolerance in the political governance of the national leader of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, as well as the ideology of Azerbaijanism, which fully reflects this worldly and humanistic phenomenon, as a philosophy of life for Azerbaijanis and all people living in this geopolitical-genational space, like the holistic coverage of political, cultural, economic and other areas of life, arouses interest in the scientific direction, in particular in the field of philosophy, which studies and evaluates issues of progress and crisis in society, leads to reflection on these topics. The department “Philosophy of Multiculturalism and Tolerance” was created in 2017 in accordance with the tasks arising from the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, “On declaring 2016 the “Year of Multiculturalism” in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to preservation, further development and widespread promotion of the traditions of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.” The department “Philosophy of Multiculturalism and Tolerance” explores in a scientific context the historical, methodological and contemporary problems of the concept of multiculturalism in the world, in parallel with the traditional sources of the model of Azerbaijani multiculturalism, as well as modern, new and relevant problems; provides for the training of scientific personnel in this area. The department “Philosophy of Multiculturalism and Tolerance”, based on the principle of scientific interdisciplinary connections of the modern world (political philosophy), fundamentally explores the concept of multiculturalism, tolerance in the political governance of Azerbaijani historical figures, political leaders, first of all, the national leader and the real author of the “Model of Modern Multiculturalism” ", which attracted the attention of the whole world, Heydar Aliyev; President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev; general and distinctive aspects of the idea of identity and multiculturalism, as well as other scientific and philosophical problems, such as the dynamics of the development of the model of Azerbaijani multiculturalism in social communications, cognitive, ethical-aesthetic, socio-cultural and psychological aspects, contributing to the enrichment of the history of national science. Currently the department is represented by 6 employees.
